Happy Memorial Day and A Hodge Podge

Well first and foremost I want to say Happy Memorial Day!  My dad was a veteran not by choice. but I come from a long line of veterans and I appreciate all they have done and I wish the best to all serving now.

I also want to wish my hubby a Happy 17th Anniversary which we celebrated yesterday on the 28th. I love you with all my heart and soul.

I have been practicing nail designs here is my latest one.

Sis is done  with Girl Scouts till September and she got her awards for the year. My son graduates 8th grade this year and I will get pics of that to show you later on.

We luckily missed a bad storm a few days ago but the clouds that moved in looked pretty wicked.

Well that's enough for now.

I Started My Cosmetology Classes

I started my cosmetology classes on April 18th. and I really love it. The first thing I learned so far was basic perming. I did pretty well but need to practice rolling the rods with more even tension. Now we are studying roller sets and the technical stuff on hair designs. Here are a couple photos of the roller set I had to design myself. I thought the hair was completely dry and it wasn't so part of it didn't stay curled but the basic concept is there.
I'm gonna keep practicing and I want to alter my design some.

In class one day last week we were taught the basics of pin curls and I wanted to practice on Faith's hair  and here's how it turned out.
We haven't studied nails yet but I have been practicing on my own and I tried applying the nail tips with acrylic and trying easy designs and here's how it turned out. The ladybug nails I did, the other design was painted by a friend in class, but I redid the acrylic myself.

Here is a picture of Faith's nails that I painted.

So far I am making good grades. I have gotten all 100's on my roller sets. I'll update more later.

A Beautiful Soul Gone!! R.I.P. Stacy!

  Stacy Sullivan  Nov.22, 1975 to May 1, 2011

Yesterday I received some terrible news from my best friend Sindi. Our mutual friend Stacy of My Thoughts had passed away. Nobody has any full information yet on what happened but all I know is the world has lost a beautiful, caring, loveable soul that would give you the shirt off her back if she could.
I remember her coming to our backyard parties and never having a dull moment with her around. When you got all of together we would talk about the silliest things and some serious things but she was always willing  to babysit when she could for my daughter Faith. The world will not be the same without her. God Speed Stacy you will be sincerely missed.

Here is a link to the local paper to read Stacy's obituary followed by a link to the funeral home to sign the memory book. Tribune Star.   Greiner Funeral Home Memory Book
